Individuals donated 120 pure gold bars, totaling 60 kilograms, to Tanohata Village in Iwate Prefecture for the development of the village.

The village mayor said, "I am very grateful, and I would like to consider how to use it effectively."

According to Tanohata Village, around last summer, an individual living in Japan made a request to Mayor Yasushi Sasaki, saying, "I want to donate the money I bought for savings. I want you to use it for the development and promotion of the village."

The village proceeded with the procedure and received the official donation document on the 5th of last month, saying that 120 solid gold bars weighing 500 grams each, with a total weight of 60 kilograms, were donated.

When the person who donated on the 30th of last month and the village chief exchanged it at a precious metal store in Tokyo, it was 528.24 million yen.

Since Tanohata Village was born in 1889, it is considered to be the largest donation, which is equivalent to about one-sixth of the initial budget for this fiscal year.

Mayor Sasaki said, "I am very grateful. The gold that I actually saw was very shiny and heavy. There were some issues where we could not invest the budget due to the severe financial situation, so we discussed with the assembly and considered how to use it effectively. I want to go," he said.
