At Tokyo Metropolitan University in Hachioji, Tokyo, a man who was believed to be the suspect who died in December last year in an incident in which professor and sociologist Shinji Miyadai (63) was attacked with a knife and seriously injured, was killed one month after the incident. It turned out that there was a suspicion that he had been coming and going around Mr. Miyadai's house many times before.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating in detail, assuming that they have been waiting for an opportunity to attack since this time.

In November last year, at the Minami-Osawa Campus of Tokyo Metropolitan University in Hachioji, Tokyo, Shinji Miyadai, a sociologist and professor of the university, was cut with a knife and was seriously injured for six weeks. A 41-year-old unemployed man who was found dead at his home in Minami-ku is being investigated as being involved in the incident.

Investigations so far have revealed that the man had broken into the building containing Mr. Miyadai's office a week before the incident. Interviews with investigative officials revealed that he was suspected of coming and going around Mr. Miyadai's home four times.

When the Metropolitan Police Department examined the IC card ticket, which is believed to be that of a man, it was confirmed that Mr. Miyadai got off at several stations several hundred meters to over one kilometer from his home.

Also, in October, it was found that Mr. Miyadai was getting off at the nearest station to the university where he was giving classes, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating in detail, assuming that he was waiting for an opportunity to attack from this time.
