Among them, Living National Treasure Yachiyo Inoue performed the celebratory dance Yamato Bumi at the head of the Japanese dance "Kyomai Inoue" where geisha and maiko from Gion Kobu are learning. rice field.

The Gion Kobu Kaburenjo was built in 1913 and has been popular as a venue for the Miyako Odori for many years.



It is also a registered tangible cultural property of the country, but more than 100 years after its construction, due to its lack of earthquake resistance, it was closed in 2016 and renovated three years ago (2020). I was in construction.



The exterior and interior of the new Kaburenjo are almost the same as before, but the pillars and beams have been reinforced with steel frames to improve earthquake resistance.

At this new Kaburenjo, the Gion Kobu dance performance "Miyako Odori" will be held in April this year for the first time in seven years.
