[Explanation] Appreciating lanterns is an essential part of the Lantern Festival on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month.

Recently, the Suyong Hall of Luzhai, Dongyang City, Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, with a height of 4.05 meters, a diameter of 2.10 meters, and a weight of 127.5 kilograms, is a lobby lamp made of 400,000 glass beads - Baogai Suolian three-color tassel horn lamp. , Ambilight eye-catching.

It is understood that this hall lantern has been handed down for hundreds of years, and it will only appear once every four years.

In the Spring Festival of 2023, this light will be turned on again, and it will remain on until Lantern Festival Eve.

Wu Xinlei, head of the Luzhai Cultural Relics Protection Office in Dongyang City, told reporters that hanging lanterns has long been an important activity during the Spring Festival in Luzhai. The lobby lights of Suyong Hall are not hung every Spring Festival, but only during leap years and major festivals. It is a rare opportunity.

The inside of Lu’s house (the lamp) should be regarded as the treasure of the town house. There are a total of four lamps (in) Lu Zhaitang (in) history, and now there are two intact ones.

Leap year, we generally speaking, it is a leap every four years according to the Gregorian calendar.

Our local area is talking about hanging lamps in leap years, but in fact it may be hanging lamps in the year of leap month. Basically, besides hanging lamps in leap years, we usually hang lamps during major festive events in our Lu residence.

[Explanation] Dongyang Luzhai is a national key cultural relics protection unit. The Baogai Suolian three-gathered seven-color tassel horn lamp is currently the largest hall lamp in the world and has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.

During the interview, the reporter learned that some of the production techniques of the lamp have been lost, and many protection and repair work are still incomplete, so they don't "show up easily".

The loss of craftsmanship mainly refers to the horn lamp.

Its production technology has no inheritors in our local area, but there are (people) who have maintained (hall) lamps in history.

If we don't exhibit it, we hang it in a separate (made) light cabin (for) protection, and the conditions at that time were relatively simple.

Basically we also hang it, because we dismantle it (and then) close it (put it in the warehouse) like this wooden one.

[Explanation] It is reported that there is an old man in his eighties who has insisted on repairing hall lamps for 20 to 30 years. He told reporters that repairing hall lamps requires more funds, and no young people are willing to learn this skill. , It is not easy to pass on.

  [Concurrent] Villager Lu Dekui

Ours used to be all handmade (made), and we used to (do) carpentry.

(Are there young people willing to learn this from you?) Yes, there are two.

(How old are they) One is seventy years old, one is over sixty years old, (are there any younger ones) now there are no more.

Our village has not been repaired for a long time.

It's hard to talk about this thing. Because of various funds in the village, it will cost a lot of money to repair it.

We first protect the hall lamp, because our lamp, especially the bead lamp, or the lamp stand, the wood of the lamp stand will crack after a long time, and the light pieces or wires will break and fall apart. We may still need to organize a repair. We may do some research on the original production process of this sheepskin lamp or sheep horn lamp within our ability (within the scope), and we may need to consult with the inheritors from other places. Get to know (learn) about.
