A 71-year-old woman was stabbed to death at a laundromat in Matsuyama City on the 5th, and the police suspected that there was no connection between the woman and the 21-year-old suspect who was arrested so far. On the morning of the 5th, Chiyoko Nakagawa (71), who lived nearby, was stabbed in the back with a knife at a coin laundry in Kono Nakasuka, Matsuyama City, and then died.



The police arrested Akinari Nakagawa (21), who lives nearby, on the spot on suspicion of attempted murder and are investigating, but according to the police, so far, there is no contact between the deceased Nakagawa and the suspect. It means it's not confirmed.



Mr. Nakagawa's husband also told NHK that he had no idea about the suspect.



Also, according to her husband, Mr. Nakagawa was visiting by bicycle on the 5th instead of her son who usually goes to this laundromat.



Police are investigating the possibility that the suspect may have targeted an unfamiliar woman.

The husband of Chiyoko Nakagawa, who died in this incident, responded to NHK's coverage on the 6th.



According to her husband, her son usually went to the laundromat that was damaged, but it was inconvenient on the 5th, so Mr. Nakagawa visited instead.



She left her home around 9:30 a.m. and rode her bicycle to a store about a kilometer away, and is believed to have been hit shortly after her arrival.



Her husband says he has "no idea" about the suspect who was arrested.
