Early in the morning on the 5th, there was a fire that burned down a house in Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture, and one person was found dead from the burnt ruins.
A 60-year-old man who lives in the house has been lost after the fire and police are scrambling to identify him.
Around 3:30 am on the 5th, a person living nearby reported to the fire department that the house of Toshiyuki Takahashi (60) in Hiyoshi-cho, Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture was on fire.
18 fire engines were dispatched to extinguish the fire, and the fire was extinguished after about two hours, but one wooden house was completely burned down, and one body was found in the burnt ruins.
According to the police, Mr. Takahashi lives alone in this house, and after the fire, he has not been able to contact Mr. Takahashi.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire and are trying to identify the bodies.
The site is a residential area about 2 kilometers west of Kanuma City Hall.
