[Explanation] Lanterns, also known as lanterns, are a kind of folk product with traditional Chinese cultural characteristics. Every New Year or Lantern Festival, people will hang up lanterns in a lively manner, implying a prosperous reunion and peace.

[Explanation] On February 3, a reporter from China News Agency walked into the Leng's handmade revolving lantern production experience hall in Yinchuan City, Ningxia, and saw that the house was full of lanterns of different shapes and bright colors.

Next to the workbench, the craftsman Leng Guixin completed the glue and stickers on the wire with only two fingers, with skilled skills and quick hands.

In this (19)87 year, I started to learn how to make lanterns.

At that time, we held the first (flower) lantern show in our mine. Back then, we made a carp (flower) lantern and a lotus (flower) lantern. The lotus (flower) lantern won the second prize, and finally won a " "Dacron" shirts, which have aroused my interest in making (flower) lamps since then.

[Explanation] On February 13, 1993, Leng Guixin suffered an electric shock at work, resulting in the amputation of one arm and the rupture of tendons in three fingers of one hand, leaving only two fingers able to move.

After being hospitalized for a year, he returned home not only did not feel disappointed in life, but instead put his energy on making lanterns and started his own artistic journey.

It can be said that I really fell in love with this lantern. I overcame all kinds of difficulties. To make a (flower) lantern, I (just) have to make a mold. With the mold, I can successfully complete the (flower) with one hand. Light (of) these processes.

[Commentary] Leng Guixin's dedication to traditional culture is seen and remembered by his son Leng Wengang.

In 2018, Leng Wengang resigned from his job and came to his father Leng Guixin to learn and pass on the skills of making lanterns.

[Concurrent] Leng Wengang, the third generation inheritor of Leng's revolving lantern

When I was young, I was very repulsed to make (festival lanterns), and as I grew older, my dad's spirit has always influenced me.

I think it is very meaningful to inherit and pass on such a good thing.

[Explanation] With the joint efforts of the father and son, Leng's revolving horse lantern has been further improved. It not only improves the rotation system inside and outside the lantern, but also greatly improves the stability of the lantern when it rotates, prolonging the service life of the lantern.

In the past, it was the first light bulb. After the light bulb was lit, the heat rose and drove the wind wheel above it.

But its stability is poor, and its lifespan is poor, so I added a motor to ensure its fixation, and it will continue to rotate steadily forever.

[Explanation] Now, Leng Wengang has taken over the baton of lantern making skills from his father Leng Guixin. In his opinion, his father's spirit is the direction of his efforts.

My father has always been obsessed with lanterns (making) and yearning for a better life, which also (made) me feel very deeply.

In the future, I also want to make my next generation worship me like I worship my father through my own efforts.
