Invited to Léna Mahfouf's "Six-seater sofa" podcast, Marion Cotillard gave her opinion on the recent controversy targeting "nepo babies", the "daughters and sons of" who have become stars like their famous parents.

The actress notably defended Lily-Rose Depp who is, according to her, "an extraordinary actress".

In full promotion of the film

Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Empire,

released in theaters on Wednesday February 1, Marion Cotillard, who plays the role of Cleopatra, participated in the podcast

Canapé six places

by Léna Mahfouf.

The actress was surrounded by her husband Guillaume Canet, the director of the film, and Gilles Lellouche, who plays Obélix.

A cover that "disrespects working people"

Asked by Léna Mahfouf about the recent cover of

New York Magazine

which attacked "nepo babies", these children of stars who have succeeded in the fashion, music or cinema industry, Marion Cotillard went up to the niche.

"From the moment we have talent, we will be able to make a career", she first reacted.

"They no longer know where they are": a relative of Guillaume Canet and Marion Cotillard makes big revelations about their couple

"If we don't have one, if we're not in our place, it's going to end pretty quickly. There's not really a subject about it. Especially since the people who were on this cover, there are extremely talented people. They have nothing to do on a cover that disrespects working people", continues the actress who then took the example of Lily-Rose Depp, the daughter of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp.

Marion Cotillard defends the talent of Lily-Rose Depp

Someone like Lily-Rose Depp who was on this cover and who is an absolutely amazing comedian and who I think is going to do great great things... Yes, she has two parents who are famous, but if she doesn't had no talent, she would not be in the cinema", considers Marion Cotillard. The actress knows Lily-Rose Depp well. Both are muses for the Chanel brand and therefore meet regularly at fashion shows during Fashion Week.
