Today, Wednesday, in the Palm Garden in Sharjah, the activities of the eighth session of the Al-Warakeen Festival for Used Books, organized by the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, were launched with the distinguished participation of several associations and destinations.

The festival grounds were crowded with school students and reading enthusiasts from the first hours of its opening, among thousands of titles sold at symbolic prices ranging from one dirham to 20 dirhams.

The Director of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafei, called on everyone to visit the festival, which lasts four days, and to establish their own libraries of used and new books that the event offers at affordable prices for everyone.

She said, "One of the most important goals of the festival is to enhance the value and importance of books by encouraging reading and love of knowledge, developing and strengthening the spirit of volunteer work among members of society of all ages, promoting cultural and social values ​​... and providing financial revenues for Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services in an innovative way with a moral and cultural return, in addition to To contribute to informing the public about the services, programs and activities that the city provides to its students.
