On February 3, the psychological detective series "God Complex" will be released in the KION online cinema.
The director was Fluza Farkhshatova, who previously worked on such projects as Ask Martha and Son.
The main roles were played by Kirill Kyaro (“Psychologists”, “Insomnia”) and Daniil Strakhov (“We are from the Future”, “Witch Doctor”).
The series tells about the confrontation between a talented and successful psychiatrist and a wealthy businessman with dangerous tendencies.
Vladimir Nesterov (Daniil Strakhov) is rich and lonely.
During the day he is busy with business and work, and at night he is overcome by obsessive thoughts that prompt the hero to dangerous actions.
He can hardly control his inclinations, so he decides to seek help from Alexei (Kirill Kyaro), a psychiatrist with a good professional reputation.
The specialist guarantees him complete confidentiality until Nesterov's thoughts turn into actions.
At the same time, the UK is looking for a missing girl, the daughter of the famous musician Konstantin Zobnin (Shamil Khamatov).
During the search, the body of another girl is discovered.
In the course of communication with the patient, the psychiatrist begins to suspect Nesterov of the murders.
Alexey understands that he is not ready to remain silent and endanger the lives of children and his career.
He tells about his guesses to the investigator, which becomes the beginning of the disaster.
The characters will have to figure out who is really behind the kidnapping of girls.
The consequences of all decisions will be eliminated by a psychiatrist, and Zobnin's best friend Bruno will help him in this, whose role in the tape was played by Nikolai Schreiber.
The series was presented at the New Season festival, where it aroused general interest.
According to the director, this is a story about several personalities brought together by fate under monstrous circumstances.
Each of them could not cope with the test that fell on him: "They are lost, imagining themselves to be gods."
Each of the heroes has his own “god complex”, as well as a temptation that is hard for him to fight.
The God complex is a term from psychology, people subject to it are distinguished by narcissism, megalomania.
A person with a god complex is firmly convinced of his inflated abilities and believes that his successes surpass those of other people.

The problems of the main characters are already visible in the first two episodes.
At the same time, there are no completely negative and positive characters in the series - each has its own pros and cons, which makes them very ambiguous and interesting.
For example, a psychiatrist at first glance seems absolutely positive, but his reflections make it clear that he is "not without sin."
The same with the businessman Nesterov - his obsession is frightening at first, but then a lonely, sympathetic person appears on the screen, afraid of himself and what he can do.
At first, it is impossible to understand which of the characters to sympathize with and trust, and who is the antagonist in this story.
On the other hand, the lack of cliches makes the project confusing and intriguing.
Already from the first episode, several potential perpetrators of the kidnappings appear at once.
It is known that when working on the film, the team was inspired by Korean neo-noir: the series has bright, neon accents, but at the same time there are also gloomy shots.
It is difficult to fully appreciate the story in two episodes.
However, the plot of the series is promising.
