Investigators found that a man believed to be the suspect in the incident in which sociologist Shinji Miyadai (63) was attacked with a knife at Tokyo Metropolitan University in Hachioji, Tokyo and was seriously injured, had died by February 1. I learned this from interviews with people involved.

On November 29, last year, at the Minami-Osawa Campus of Tokyo Metropolitan University in Hachioji, Tokyo, Shinji Miyadai (63), a sociologist and professor of this university, was cut by a man with a knife and suffered a serious injury that took six weeks to heal.



After the incident, there were no strong clues about the culprit, and Mr. Miyadai said that he had no idea who the man was.



According to investigative sources, the man believed to be the suspect was found dead by February 1.



Police are investigating the details.
