The Spanish Film Academy will reward French actress Juliette Binoche at the Goyas ceremony, which will be held in Seville on February 11.

A Goya International will crown "his extraordinary career and his commitment to authors who have taken risks, which has resulted in a number of unforgettable performances", specifies a long press release from the Academy.

Already winner of an Oscar, a César and a Bafta, as well as the interpretation prize at the Cannes, Berlin and Venice festivals, and the Donostia prize at the San Sebastian festival, Juliette Binoche has left her mark on the cinema of these "four decades".

The press release emphasizes how his roles are always "powerful" and his career marked by important directors, such as Jean-Luc Godard, Leos Carax, André Téchiné, Louis Malle, Olivier Assayas, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Anthony Minghella, Hou Hsiao Hsien, Lasse Hallstrom, Kiarostami, David Cronenberg, and so many others.

La Binoche

The Goyas also point out that the actress quickly became "La" Binoche, a way of saying to mark her singular personality and her special status among French actresses.

Always open to original proposals and new experiences, but straight in her boots when it comes to refusing roles as object women, the star is internationally recognized as a major actress.

What this price confirms.

The Goya International, which is only two years old, was awarded for the first time to Cate Blanchet.
