The fairy tale "Uncle Fyodor, the dog and the cat", written by Eduard Uspensky, was first published in 1974.

This is the first book in a cycle of works about Prostokvashino.

The story tells about an adult and independent boy beyond his years, whom everyone calls Uncle Fyodor.

Having met the tabby cat Matroskin, the boy took him to live with him, but Uncle Fyodor's mother was against the appearance of a pet.

Then the boy decided to leave home for the village of Prostokvashino.

In the new place, Matroskin and Uncle Fyodor found another friend, the dog Sharik, and began to live together.

For the first time, the cycle was adapted into a series of cartoons - “Uncle Fyodor, Dog and Cat.

Matroskin and Sharik (1975), Uncle Fyodor, Dog and Cat.

Mom and Dad "(1976)," Uncle Fedor, Dog and Cat.

Mitya and Murka (1976).

The cartoon "Three from Prostokvashino" was the next adaptation, released in 1978.

A year later, a continuation of the story appeared under the title "Vacations in Prostokvashino."

In 1984, the cartoon "Winter in Prostokvashino" saw the light of day.

In 2018, the Soyuzmultfilm film studio relaunched the Soviet animated hit, adapting it to modern times.

So, in the new project, the heroes have gadgets, Uncle Fyodor has a sister, and Sharik continues to photograph Murka, but now he uploads pictures to the network.
