DC Studios executives James Gunn and Peter Safran have announced the upcoming projects of the updated movie universe and announced that the Batman 2 superhero film will be released on wide screens on October 3, 2025.

Plot details have not yet been disclosed, but it is known that Matt Reeves, who directed the first part of the tape, will be the director, and Robert Pattinson will again play the main role.

However, Gunn noted that Reeves is also working on other films in the franchise.

“Matt is currently working (on the second Batman film. -

), which he considers (part of. -

) The Batman Crime Saga, which also includes the Penguin series.

This is a separate project that Matt is currently working hard on.

He came to us the other day and came up with some amazing, really cool ideas.

So we plan to continue,” Gann is quoted as saying by Collider.

In addition, the filmmakers said that "Batman 2" will be released under the auspices of DC's Elseworlds division.

The action of the films of this label goes beyond the boundaries of the DCEU, outlined by the new management.

However, this will not affect the quality of films in any way, on the contrary, according to the producers, the bar for projects outside the DC universe will be “very high”.

Meanwhile, Safran assured that "Batman 2" is still a priority for the company along with other tapes.

The preparatory phase of work on the sequel to "Batman" will begin in 2023.

"Batman" is not a foster child at all.

It is under the wing of DC, and, as is the case with other projects, we are fully committed to its success,” said Safran.

DC Elseworlds will also release titles such as Todd Phillips' Joker: Two-Piece Madness, the previously announced Batman spin-off featuring the villainous Penguin, and a Black Superman project written by Ta-Nehasi Coates and produced by JJ Abrams.

The film duo also announced other projects that will be released in 2025-2027 as part of the first chapter of the DC Universe, designated as Gods and Monsters.

In total, the producers promise five new films for theatrical release and five projects for television and online platforms.

Superman: Legacy, written by Gunn himself, will be released in wide release.

According to him, the plot of the tape is not new, it will be based on Superman's balancing act between his Kryptonian heritage and human upbringing.

The list was also supplemented by films such as The Brave and The Bold (“The Brave and the Bold”), inspired by the Grant Morrison comic book series about Batman and Robin, Swamp Thing (“Swamp Thing”), which will explore the dark side of the protagonist, scientifically a fantastic film about the adventures of a super-girl Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow (“Supergirl: The Woman of the Future”) and The Authority (“Authorities”) filmed for the first time.

The plot of the latter revolves around superhumans who have their own view of problems and resort to non-standard ways to solve them.

"One of our strategies is to use our star heroes - Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman - to promote other characters that people don't know," Gunn said.

“In a way, that’s exactly what happened with Guardians of the Galaxy.

Take teams like The Authority for example, I'm sure it's an amazing idea for a movie that shows superheroes from a completely different angle.

And then there is the connection with Superman.

The bottom line is to use well-known assets to promote lesser-known ones.”

Among the TV projects are the animated series Сreature Сommandos (“Monster Commandos”), the spin-off “Peacemaker” Waller (“Waller”) with Viola Davis in the title role, the series Lanterns (“Lanterns”), the plot of which revolves around two intergalactic police officers from the comic Green Lantern, as well as Paradise Lost ("Paradise Lost") about Wonder Woman's homeland and "Booster Gold" (Booster Gold) about a loser from the future trying to return to the present with the help of new technologies.

In general, the film company plans to release two films and two TV series annually for eight to ten years.
