Actress Lisa Loring, who played little Wednesday Addams as a child actress in the series "The Addams Family" in the 1960s, is dead. Loring died on Saturday at the age of 64, according to American media on Monday, citing Loring's family and reported to their agents.

She died as a result of a stroke.

Born in the Marshall Islands and raised in Hawaii and Los Angeles, Loring was just six years old when she was cast in the horror comedy sitcom The Addams Family.

The child model played the pale daughter of the iconic Goth family with a penchant for the macabre.

Lorings Wednesday Addams plays with decapitated dolls, keeps a pet spider and pulls off a famous dance scene in one episode.

The first television adaptation of Charles Addams' comic book of the same name ran from 1964 to 1966. Loring later starred in a number of other series and films, including the 1977 television film Halloween with the New Addams Family.

Just last November, the streaming service Netflix launched the series "Wednesday", in which the actress Jenna Ortega embodies the main character Wednesday Addams.

The series became a huge hit and is the third most popular series in the history of the platform, according to Netflix.

A dance performed by lead actress Ortega - a re-imagining of Lisa Loring's dance - caused a sensation and was followed by numerous imitators on social media.
