On October 14, 2022, Hu Mouyu, a student from Zhiyuan Middle School in Qianshan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, disappeared from the school, which aroused widespread concern in the society.
After disappearing for more than a hundred days, at about 12:25 on January 28, 2023, the police in Qianshan County, Jiangxi Province received a call from the public saying that a hanged body was found in the woods in the Jinjishan area of Hekou Town, the local area.
After receiving the report, the police quickly sent personnel to the scene to investigate and found that the deceased was dressed in the same clothes as Hu Mouyu, a student from Zhiyuan Middle School, when he disappeared on October 14, 2022.
Immediately, they asked the procuratorate to send personnel to supervise, and invited family representatives and their lawyers to witness the whole process.
According to a report issued by the Jiangxi police on the 29th, on January 29, the police conducted a DNA test on the biological samples of the deceased and determined that the deceased was Hu Mouyu.
A recording pen was found during the on-site investigation and has been sent to a professional organization for appraisal.
At the same time, the police have invited domestic authoritative criminal technology experts to the scene to participate in the investigation.

Zheng Xiaojing said that if the on-site inspection, autopsy report, recording pen appraisal conclusion and other evidence point to homicide, a criminal case must be filed for investigation, which involves the issue of off-site investigation; if it points to suicide, it is Hu Mouyu’s disappearance, not a criminal case, and no Criminal investigation.
Zheng Xiaojing also said that if it points to homicide, she will continue to appear in court as the victim's attorney to defend her rights; if it points to suicide and the school's supervision is negligent, as a lawyer, she will demand that the school bear civil liability for compensation.
