The search for wisdom is the basis of the philosophy of history;

Wisdom increases the ability of states to issue correct judgments, to choose the best alternatives that help in their development and development, to define goals and objectives, and to work efficiently to achieve them.

Therefore, wisdom is associated with maturity, which is a concept that means that historical experiences have accumulated, and formed the ability to build the correct vision and response to events with decisions that are measured on previous actions in history, and the results of those actions. This led to increased interest in the concept of wisdom in the modern era and its relationship to culture and building societies and states.

From history we draw wisdom

History lessons are among the most important sources of wisdom, so the wisdom of the nation increases as its various historical experiences accumulate, and as it is able to raise awareness of history and teach it in schools and universities and is able to develop its educational curricula by transforming history stories into attractive and influential content that contributes to qualifying leaders to make wise decisions.

Therefore, history contributes to building the future of nations when it turns into an actor in qualifying leading personalities who are able to build societies of wisdom, invest knowledge and employ it in reaching new solutions to problems, balancing interests, producing ideas and motivating people to achieve great dreams.

Colonial capitalist schemes that do not care about human value and work to get rid of people do not constitute a solution for them, but they lead to an increase in hatred, wars, terrorism, destruction and devastation.

post-capitalist societies

There are many questions that we must consider, namely:

  • Why the increasing interest in the concept of wisdom?

  • What is the relationship of this concept with the knowledge and historical experiences of countries?

  • Does teaching history in educational curricula contribute to building the historical character of countries in people's minds?

We must look for a more profound explanation for this interest.

A reading of reality shows that universities and research centers in the West have begun to realize that capitalism is rapidly pushing societies towards ruin and destruction, and that capitalist exploitation can lead to the end of humanity. Therefore, all countries need to think about building post-capitalist societies.

These societies need wisdom to make decisions that achieve justice and protect human dignity.

The lessons of history confirm that the injustice resulting from class division, exploitation, modern slavery, collection and plundering of peoples' wealth are the most important causes of destruction and the collapse of civilizations.

Therefore, new societies need wisdom resulting from awareness of the accumulated historical experience that can be employed in building a system of principles that can be agreed upon, the most important of which are justice, freedom, and respect for the will of peoples. These principles can preserve the cohesion and unity of societies, while injustice leads to disintegration and civil wars.

The world needs a new quality of historians who develop the philosophy of history.

They are not limited to presenting historical events, but they interpret these events, and they deduce lessons, lessons and factors that lead to victories and defeats, prosperity and collapse, reconstruction and destruction.

Wisdom and crisis management

Countries are now realizing that they are facing crises that need wisdom in managing and dealing with them. These crises threaten the existence of countries and all of humanity.

The colonial capitalist schemes that do not care about human value and work to get rid of people do not constitute a solution for them, but they lead to an increase in hatred, wars, terrorism, destruction and devastation.

All countries have faced crises during their history;

How did it manage to get out of it and what lessons did it draw from these crises in increasing its efficiency and the ability of its men to make the right decisions?

The whole world is in dire need of building human wisdom resulting from the lessons of history to confront the crises resulting from the exploitation of capitalism and its alliance with tyranny, corruption, and colonial plundering of peoples' wealth;

There is some agreement that the world is witnessing a broad process of change.. but how?

If the world wants to face crises that threaten its existence, it must strive to restore human wisdom, work to build a society of wisdom, provide knowledge of history, and qualify new leaders who read history deeply and benefit from its experiences in making correct decisions.

Luxury and the collapse of states

The world needs a new quality of historians who develop the philosophy of history.

They are not limited to presenting historical events, but they interpret these events, and they deduce lessons, lessons and factors that lead to victories and defeats, prosperity and collapse, reconstruction and destruction.

There is a fact that seemed clear after many events have proven it true.

It is that material capitalism and excessive consumption are among the most important factors that led to the increase in psychological, societal and global crises that have come to threaten humanity with destruction.

While analyzing the growth of consumerism in most modern societies in recent decades, the prominent Polish sociologist Zygmunt Baumann begins by starting from an axiom, which is that all human beings are innate consumers, and over time they were consumers for the purpose of satisfying their needs and desires, so our interest in consumption is nothing new. The process of consumption and satiation are natural human features that certainly precede the emergence of the industrial capitalist economy, modern technology, and huge markets. However, it draws our attention to a new phenomenon in human history in general, which has not been characterized by human consumerism before, which is the phenomenon of the consumer society, or in other words, the market society.

What is new in this phenomenon is not the increase in the volume of consumption itself. It is in some way an individual activity carried out by each individual according to his needs, even if he does so in a group. What is new in the phenomenon of market society - a phenomenon that has been monitored during the last 30 years - is the emergence of consumption as a standard on the quality of life and as evidence of its demand.

Ibn Khaldun, luxury and history lessons

It is very important that we proudly remember Ibn Khaldun and introduce him to the world as a civilized achievement in discovering the lessons of history, and to learn from him the art of extracting wisdom from history.

Where he believes that luxury is the most important factor that leads to the collapse of states, so can this wisdom form a new vision for building a new, more just world?!

In this era, luxury has been associated with injustice, racial discrimination, class division, plundering and impoverishment of peoples' wealth.

In order for a few elite to enjoy all the reasons for a luxurious life, to indulge in pleasure and to satisfy lusts without moral controls, and at the same time those luxurious elites lacked the wisdom and ability to search for the meaning of life.

Ibn Khaldun says: “The sultan’s tax especially increases greatly with his spending on his own, and his abundance of giving, and the collection does not meet that, so the state needs an increase in collection for what the garrison needs from giving, and the sultan from the alimony, so it increases in the amount of jobs and distributions first, then increases the tax.” And the needs and gradualness in the revenues of luxury and in giving to the garrison, and the state becomes aware of the aging, and its gang weakens from collecting money from works and far, so the collection decreases and the revenues increase, and the livelihood of the soldiers and their giving increases with their abundance. Markets, and the notables of commodities in the city's money. Despite this, he is forced to do so, due to what the people's luxury called for in terms of abundance of giving with the increase of armies and garrison. And this may increase at the end of the state, so that the markets become clogged due to the corruption of money, and this indicates the imbalance of urbanization, and it is used to the state. And it continues to increase until it diminishes.”

Colonial arrogance over poor countries

During the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the luxurious elite in Europe pushed the armies of European countries to plunder the wealth of the countries that colonized them. For example, France rebuilt Paris and built lavish palaces with the wealth it plundered from Algeria. Therefore, it killed millions in Algeria and Africa, and this constitutes a crime against humanity and civilization. .

The luxurious elite, which has turned into transcontinental companies, is still pushing Western countries to launch aggression against countries to plunder and impoverish the people's goods. The American aggression on Afghanistan and Iraq is a model for the systematic looting of people's wealth by using brute force to exterminate and subjugate people.

These crimes have led to an increase in hatred and the desire for revenge, and have become a threat to the existence of all humanity.

History shows us that luxury is associated with injustice, exploitation, aggression, looting, killing and extermination. It is also associated with arrogance and arrogance over poor countries and dealing with them with contempt. This also applies to the ruling elites in countries;

Where the rich see the poor as slaves and servants, despise their pain, and use brute force against them.

A study of reality shows that the ruling elites in many countries lack the wisdom that makes them achieve a balance that can preserve the unity of society, and not push the components of society into civil war.

The sinking of tyrants and hypocrites - who defend and protect them - in luxury has led to an increase in hatred in societies and a sense of discontent, and this threatens not only the existence of the elite, but rather all societies and countries.

Lack of wisdom and failure to deeply read historical experiences is one of the most important factors that created global crises and became a threat to the existence of states and could lead to their collapse in the near future.

A painful reality that needs to change

One of the most important lessons of history is that luxury is linked to corruption, so the affluent plunder the money of the world to enjoy it and satisfy their desires for consumption, ostentation, transcendence and arrogance over people, exaggerating manifestations of extravagance and foolish spending, and holding parties whose costs exceed what millions of poor people need in obtaining the necessities of life that can be preserved. human dignity.

This means that a lack of wisdom and a failure to deeply read historical experiences are among the most important factors that created the crises in which the world lives, which have come to threaten its existence, and could lead, during the near future, to the collapse and ruin of states.

Therefore, the call to build a society of wisdom that is based on awareness of historical experiences and their use in rationalizing the decision-making process and achieving comprehensive change comes in the light of studying the reality that becomes more ugly the more capitalism is ferocious and gluttonous in plundering the wealth of peoples, and the more tyrants use brute force to subjugate peoples. And the more the elites become arrogant and arrogant over the poor.

Saving human civilization requires wisdom and the search for new solutions by extrapolating historical experiences and agreeing on a system of principles and ethics that preserve human dignity and liberate peoples from poverty and oppression.

Islam and the search for wise solutions

Building a society of wisdom aims to search for rational, correct and ethical human solutions to many crises. Complex problems need creative solutions and new ideas. Among the most important of these problems is the increase in hatred, hatred and discontent resulting from the feeling of the poor that capitalism has plundered their wealth and left them groaning under the weight of poverty, oppression and despair. And frustration, they wished for death, but a decent death can be in the fields of struggle, resistance, and defense of human rights. Death in defense of religion, principles, dignity, land, and honor is martyrdom and heroism.

Therefore, saving countries and human civilization requires wisdom and the search for new solutions by extrapolating historical experiences and agreeing on a system of principles and ethics that preserve human dignity and liberate peoples from poverty and oppression.

One of the most serious obstacles to building a society of wisdom is ignoring Islam, its civilization and its history, as it is the source of wisdom. The Qur’an presents to us the stories of the prophets that constitute a wealth of knowledge and provide us with lessons and lessons that can increase human wisdom and make him able to make his decisions in the light of the principles he believes in.

It is also Islam that makes the human conscience glow and lights the way for the individual to live a meaningful life based on striving to achieve reform and justice.

Islam shows us that states are based on justice and collapse when brute force is used to subjugate peoples, as the Qur’an presents to us the story of Pharaoh as a model for the tyrant who used his brute force and thus shows us the consequence of arrogance and tyranny, as Pharaoh leads to destruction, destruction and ruin.

The Qur’an also makes it clear to us that we must read history and understand its lessons in order to avoid the fate of the nations that God destroyed with its tyranny. It also makes it clear to us that peoples who accept slavery and surrender to it cannot achieve victory or glory. So only those who revolt against tyranny, reject slavery and resist colonialism deserve sovereignty and honor. tyranny, and defends his religion, freedom and rights.

The wise guard the truth

Countries that want life and continuity must search for wisdom in their history and employ their historical experiences to achieve agreement among their people on a system of principles, values and ethics that the wise guard and apply. As for brute force, ignorant people use it to subjugate people for a time under the pretext of stability and the absence of an alternative until states collapse.

Perhaps these are the most important lessons of history that must be absorbed by the wise adults who lead the movement of change and build societies based on justice, rationality and wisdom, and save humanity from a mysterious and dark fate.

Wisdom, which is based on a correct reading of the lessons of history and through it, can contribute to saving humanity and building countries capable of living by applying justice. Therefore, peoples must choose leaders who are aware of history and are able to make correct decisions in the light of their experiences.

Certainly, the history of Islam constitutes for us a wealth of knowledge with which we can establish a society of wisdom.
