The main customs office in Berlin confiscated almost one million euros in a child's room.

In the course of a search, the cash was found in a sports bag in the closet, the authority said on Tuesday.

Photos showed several cases with bundles of money, such as 100 and 200 euro bills.

According to customs information, it was a total of 990,000 euros.

According to a customs spokesman, the deployment of the financial control undeclared work unit had already occurred on Tuesday of last week in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district.

The background is investigations on behalf of the public prosecutor against, among other things, a former managing director in the transport and logistics industry.

The suspicion: the man is accused of withholding wages and embezzling them.

He then apparently hid the money in the children's room.
