As the population lives longer and longer, aging can scare some people.

Guests of the program "Bienfait pour vous", plastic surgeon Olivier Claude and Natacha Dzikowski, author of "I am the age that I am", give some advice to fight against the aging process.

With today's new technologies and advances in medicine, people are living longer.

But some people are afraid of aging and do not hesitate to use all techniques to combat the process.

Guests of the program

Bienfait pour vous

, Olivier Claude, plastic surgeon in Paris, and Natacha Dzikowski, author of

I am the age that I

am , explain the reasons for our aging and how to better fight against it.

"Today, we have the opportunity to live longer and better. So the goal is to be really in harmony between our appearance and the internal energy that we have", underlines the plastic surgeon.

If his clientele was rather feminine before, Olivier Claude explains that more and more men are calling on him.

Lifestyle represents 80% of aging

Aging could mean greater confidence, more maturity, more experience, and yet, in the collective imagination, there is this rather negative image of this natural process.

Why is this one scary?

“It is the representation of age that poses a problem for us”, replies Natacha Dzikowski.

"When we finally interview people, women and men feel that we send them an image of degradation. We make a shortcut between age, which is completely natural, and the fact of aging when these are two different things,” she added.

But then, how to fight against it?

"We have control over our biological age. 80% of aging is our lifestyle. By understanding how our body works, we have the tools not to accelerate cellular aging," says the author.

"A poor lifestyle will in some way accelerate this aging, which means that there will be traces with less pretty skin, extra pounds, a less mobile silhouette. On the contrary, a healthy lifestyle will prolong longevity and help maintain energy, beautiful skin, an active figure and mobility," she adds.

The aging process begins around the age of 25

Contrary to what we can imagine, the aging process begins very early.

"It's around 25 years old. But it's a process that is extremely progressive and insidious. So, at the beginning, like all alterations, we don't necessarily realize it, it appears gradually and after that it accelerates quickly" , explains Olivier Claude.

For him, in order to be more in the prevention, it is necessary to intervene early.

"When we want to deal with a problem, it's easier if we take care of it quickly".

What is the difference compared to 24 years old?

"At the level of the skin, there will be less collagen and elastin. Between 20 and 25 years, it remains minimal because there is not much difference, but after the process will accelerate", answers the surgeon.

Faced with this, he explains the importance of reacting quickly.

"You have to take the time to analyze a face early enough, in order to see what the weak links are in order to be able to intervene on it and spend the years in the best possible way", he concludes.

Sugar causes wrinkles

For Natacha Dzikowski, the best anti-wrinkle treatment is the sugar-free diet.

"It's a real poison, both for the silhouette, for our intestinal microbiota and for our skin. The sugar will trigger, through insulin, a whole process of glycation at the cell level. This means that the fibers will stiffen and therefore break. Sugar is therefore the creator of wrinkles", she underlines.

"Then, as it will unbalance the intestinal microbiota, it promotes an inflammatory state which can result in the reactivity of fear, or even skin diseases", warns the author.

The importance of sleep

Finally, the two guests discuss the importance of sleep.

"The skin regenerates completely between midnight and 3 a.m. and our metabolism also does so at night. If the skin has not been properly cleaned in the evening, for example, it will not be able to regenerate well", specifies Natacha Dzikowski .

For his part, Olivier Claude indicates that "sleep will repair our DNA".

"He is one of the main actors in the fight against oxidative stress. The quantity of sleep is important but also the quality. It is useless to sleep 8 hours if I watched screens or if I ate a meal too much,” he added.

According to the surgeon, regularity and micro naps play an essential role.

"Sleeping a little every day at the same time will promote regeneration. the body needs regularity. For naps, it shouldn't be too long, between four and 15 minutes is enough, otherwise you go home in a sleep cycle.
