Alec Baldwin will stand trial in the death of Halyna Hutchins.

The director of photography died in October 2021 from a gunshot wound, fired by the weapon held by the actor.

The prosecutor's office has brought two charges against him, as well as the gunsmith of the western, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who will therefore appear for manslaughter.

“The District Attorney and Special Prosecutor are fully focused on securing justice for Halyna Hutchins.

The evidence and the facts speak for themselves, ”said the spokesperson for the prosecutor's office in a press release relayed by Deadline.

Court case

If Alec Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed are convicted, they could face up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine for each of the two charges against them.

The director's assistant, David Halls, is not prosecuted, having preferred to make an agreement with the prosecutor rather than a trial.

Alec has always denied having pulled the trigger and for the moment his lawyers, who had denounced "a terrible miscarriage of justice", have not yet reacted.
