The movie Avatar: Road of Water (hereafter referred to as 'Avatar 2') ranked 3rd in all-time grossing among domestic releases and 4th in all-time box office revenue worldwide.

According to the Korea Film Promotion Commission's integrated computer network tally, the movie "Avatar: Road to Water" (director James Cameron) surpassed 10,358,977 cumulative domestic audiences and 131.6 billion won in cumulative sales on January 29, 47 days after its release.

This surpasses the cumulative domestic sales of 131.2 billion won of the movie 'Criminal City 2', which was released last year and exceeded 10 million viewers.

As a result, 'Avatar 2' not only achieved the highest sales among released films in 2022, but also ranked third in sales among all released films in Korea.

Also, according to North American Box Office Mojo, 'Avatar: Road of Water' surpassed $2.11658 billion in global box office revenue.

This surpassed the box office revenue of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' ($ 2.07131 billion), which was previously ranked 4th in all time worldwide.

In particular, it ranks first in IMAX and Dolby Cinema sales in Korea and second in global IMAX sales, so the global box office success is expected to continue for the time being.

'Avatar 2' is a movie about the ruthless threats that the family of 'Jake Sully' and 'Neytiri' will face on the planet Pandora, the long journey and battles they must leave to survive, and the wounds they must endure.
