There is a work that captured the hearts of the audience with its unrivaled splendor and catchy songs.

It is a musical based on the movie 'Moulin Rouge', which was a box office hit worldwide.

Nightline Guest Seat Today (1st), we will be with Kim Ji-woo, the lead actor of the musical 'Moulin Rouge'.

Q. Asian premiere in Korea…

How did the audience react?

[Kim Ji-woo/Actor: Thankfully, Korean audiences are so passionate.

From the beginning of the performance to the moment it ends, in fact, you are breathing together with the actors, so please watch it with an open mind from the beginning.

So rather, because the actors are receiving more of that energy, in fact, the actors are absorbing that passion with a more grateful heart.]

Q. The musical 'Moulin Rouge'...

what kind of work

[Kim Ji-woo / Actor: Our musical Moulin Rouge is based on the movie of the same name.

It is set in Paris, France in the 1890s.

It is set against the backdrop of a club called the Moulin Rouge, which is currently in existence.

I play the role of Satin, who is called the star in it.

It deals with the love story of Satine and Christian, a genius composer and poet who came straight from America to France.]

Q. What are the charms different from the original movie?

[Kim Ji-woo/Actor: Apparently, in our concert, we used a mash-up of pop songs that were very familiar to our ears.

As a result, the songs I listened to in the original English language were expressed very well with the beauty of the Korean language, such as 'This music can be expressed so beautifully' and 'A word like this can sound like a very sharp word at some point'. I think many people think of that part more fresh because it's done a lot.]

Q. The tough audition process...

Why did you choose this piece?

[Kim Ji-woo / Actor: I'm really lucky, but I saw this performance on Broadway in 2019.

But from the moment I entered the concert hall, there was a story I told my husband, 'If I really come to Korea, it's okay for me to clean on stage, so I want to participate together'.

It was a really difficult audition process, but the audition process itself also served as an opportunity for me to take a step forward.

And it was a really fresh audition, so now that I think about it, it was an audition process that I think 'was worth the effort'.]

Q. The role of the best star 'Satin'...

Wasn't it burdensome?

[Kim Ji-woo/Actor: At first, I was just happy to hear that I had passed.

The second thought that came to my mind was a tremendous sense of pressure.

In fact, all the top actors in Korea also auditioned.

Also, the audience also had a lot of questions about what kind of actors would express themselves in Korea when there were actors like this in the US or London, so the pressure was very high, but the staff who worked together and the work together In fact, I was able to shake off that pressure a little faster because each of the actors who did "Take Care" trusted each other.]

Q. The musical started in 2006...

What is your most memorable work?

[Kim Ji-woo/Actor: The most meaningful work for me is 'Kinky Boots'.

It was a work I came across when I felt that I didn't belong somewhere.

The message that Kinky Boots itself has is that I just have to go my own way and that if I change my mind, I can change the world.

And it was a really good message for me to pass on to my child.

So, I always think of Kinky Boots as my life's musical.]

Q. What is the best scene from the musical 'Moulin Rouge'?

[Kim Ji-woo / Actor: Our Moulin Rouge is the part you shouldn't miss from the start.

All the actors are with the audience and you can really feel it from the beginning of 'Ah, this is Moulin Rouge', so I hope you don't miss the opening and participate together and enjoy it.]

[Kim Ji-woo / Actor: This year, my goal is to finish the Moulin Rouge well by March 5th.

And my personal goal is to raise my children well, take care of myself, and successfully build my career as an actor.

And, like everyone I know, as well as my family, the thought of wanting to be healthy for this year is my top priority, so I hope everyone is healthy.]
