Thomas Hellberg played the character Captain Georg Lager in 99 episodes of "Rederiet" which was broadcast on SVT between 1995 and 2000. He has also directed episodes of the series.
According to the Swedish Film Database, Thomas Hellberg started acting as an eight-year-old in radio plays.
He graduated from the acting school in Malmö and worked for the Norrköping and Stockholm city theaters and for the Riksteatern.
The film breakthrough came with "Maria" (1975) and the following year he played Gunvald Larsson in the Beck film "Mannen på taket" directed by Bo Widerberg.
He also did the voice for Alien in the children's program "Tillbaka till vintergatan" which was broadcast on SVT during the 00s.
In the 2000s he has had a couple of smaller TV roles and in 2005 he had his last major film role as the lead in "Break even" about the director Gustav Osterman who travels to Russia to look for filming locations.
