After the mobilization day of January 19, which had gathered between one and two million people according to the sources, a second day of general mobilization against the pension reform will take place on Tuesday January 31, just before the text arrives in The national assembly.

Already, several unions have called for a strike that day, which suggests many disturbances in certain sectors.

Mass strike in transport

In transport first, the four representative unions of the SNCF have called for a united strike, with the desire to “act massively by striking on January 31” on the part of SUD-Rail.

Traffic could therefore be as disrupted as on January 19, when there was only one TGV out of 3 and one TGV out of 5 depending on the lines, no Intercités and one TER out of 10. At the RATP, which is directly concerned by the reform, the inter-union also called for mobilization.

On January 19, the Paris metro had only partially opened.

All the information related to the impact of the strike on transport will be relayed from Sunday.

A movement followed in education

In National Education, several unions have also called for a strike on January 31, with a desire to amplify the movement on the part of the inter-union.

SUD-Education, for its part, called for a “renewable strike”.

The day of January 19 had already been very well attended, with 65% of strikers among secondary school teachers and 70% among primary school teachers according to the unions and 34.66% and 42.35% according to the ministry.

Actions in the energy sector

The strike will also be followed in the energy sector, which is also directly affected by the reform.

If the CGT chemistry wishes to carry out a 78-hour action on February 6, the CGT in the sector of the electricity and gas industries has been on renewable strike since January 19 and has called for a strike on January 31, but also at high points on 6, 7 and 8 February, in parallel with the actions of the CGT chimie.

Free operations for individuals or targeted power cuts could thus be carried out.

Other sectors concerned, next strike…

Finally, other sectors could also be impacted by the January 31 mobilization.

The ski lifts in the resorts and the aerial sector could experience some malfunctions.

Municipalities have also planned a total or partial closure of their services.

Next days of mobilizations should take place again on February 7 and 8, before possible renewable strikes.
