According to the police and fire department, at least 10 people in 3 groups of foreigners were skiing at the scene, and at least 5 of them were caught in the avalanche.

At night, most of them descended to the foot of the mountain on their own, and one of them complained of pain in his right shoulder and was taken to the hospital.

The site is said to be on the eastern slope of Tenguhara at an altitude of more than 2100 meters on Mt. Shirouma Norikura.
