The Ice Waterfall Festival is held every year around this time so that visitors can enjoy Sounkyo Onsen in winter, and about 30 ice sculptures are lined up at the venue on the riverbed of the Ishikari River. .

The ice statues were lit up with colorful lights, and visitors posed in front of their favorite statues and took pictures.



This year, food booths and bars, which had been canceled due to the spread of the new coronavirus, were set up for the first time in three years.

There are also tables made of ice, and some people enjoy hot sake and cocoa there, and it is crowded with many tourists.



A woman in her 20s who came from Mie Prefecture said, "It's a view that can't be seen in our area, and it was lit up, so I was very impressed."



A man in his 70s who came from the town of Kunneppu on the Sea of ​​Okhotsk said, "There were countless sharp icicles in the ice sculptures, which was impressive."



Kamikawa Town's "Hyobaku Festival" is held until March 12th.
