There's another scandal on Capitol Hill.

The new speaker of the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, ousted two prominent Democrats, Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff (both from California), from the highly influential Intelligence Committee.

And the offended Democrats did not come up with anything better than to blame ex-President Trump and ... Russian influence for their career decline.

Offended congressmen were immediately pulled out for an interview by MSNBC host Joy Reed.

This dark-skinned daughter of immigrants from Guyana is known in the American media as an ardent hater of Donald Trump (in 2019, she released the book "The Man Who Sold America", after which the democratic press began to call her "the heroine of the anti-Trump resistance").

Unsurprisingly, the first question she asked Swalwell and Schiff was whether they thought their removal from the committee was retaliation for trying to impeach Trump.

After all, both Democrats were ardent supporters of this initiative, which failed ingloriously in 2020 and 2021.

"I can't think of any other legitimate reason why you wouldn't be on this committee other than this one," Reed exclaimed.

- And can you?"

Without hesitation, the congressmen agreed with her.

Of course, behind all the intrigues on Capitol Hill looms the ominous shadow of Trump - whose else?

“I think this is McCarthy trying to please the boss at Mar-a-Lago,” Schiff said.

“But in addition to what he does to me or to Eric (Swalwell. -

K.B.

), McCarthy is damaging the intelligence committee by using it as a political toy.”

Here we must understand that the intelligence committee is one of the most important in the US Congress.

It oversees the entire intelligence community of the country, including the relevant departments of the security and civilian ministries.

It is from here, from the intelligence committee, that professionally measured doses of information or misinformation necessary for processing public opinion “leak” into the press.

Suffice it to say that Adam Schiff, from the very beginning of the Trump presidency, used his position to accuse the owner of the White House of colluding with Russia.

Back in March 2017, on the same MSNBC channel, Schiff said that he saw direct evidence of collusion between Donald Trump and the Russians during the election campaign, and he didn’t get off this skate anymore.

Svolvell didn't disappoint either.

He stated that Schiff was a "fearless leader during the impeachment" and that is why the Trumpists turned on him, on Swalwell himself and on Ilhan Omar (this radical leftist was expelled by the new speaker from the committee on foreign affairs).

But the matter is not limited to the settling of personal accounts.

“It’s about who is now granted access to top secret information,” Schiff pumped.

The presenter immediately picked up: now that such die-hard fighters for democracy as Schiff and Swalwell were excluded from the intelligence committee, it would fall under the control of the Republicans, and they "may be influenced by Russia", especially since some congressmen are not willing to spend more money to finance the war in Ukraine.

“There are people about whom we cannot say for sure which side they are on,” Reed bent her line.

- People who spoke in favor of the Russian side.

On the Intelligence Committee!

I don't know if we can trust these people with national security information.

They can pass this information on to Donald Trump and God knows who else!”

Joy Reid may not be aware, but former US presidents enjoy the right to receive intelligence briefings, regardless of how black mainstream liberal media view it.

The congressmen, however, did not begin to correct it, on the contrary, Swalwell immediately picked up this idea and even developed it a little creatively.

He confirmed that he and Schiff are very concerned that some Republicans “have sympathy or a desire ... to follow the instructions of Putin, not America,” and that “more and more people are on them (Republicans. -

K. B.

) conferences vote against financing Ukraine or supporting Ukraine.”

In general, if you listen to exiled congressmen, then terrible things are happening on Capitol Hill: one of the main committees of the congress has come under the control of Moscow, and Trumpists sympathizing with Putin are about to turn off the tap from which golden rain is pouring on Kyiv.

Is it all true?

Unfortunately no.

Schiff and Swalwell were excluded from the intelligence committee not because their presence there interfered with the Kremlin.

These two "fighters for democracy" have their skeletons in the closet.

Back in June 2022, long before the midterm elections brought the Republicans a majority in the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy vowed on Fox News that when he became Speaker, neither Schiff nor Swalwell would serve on the intelligence committee again.

Schiff has lied to the nation for four years about Trump colluding with the Russians and therefore is not credible.

“Look at Adam Schiff - he shouldn't be on the (committee. -

K.B.

) on intelligence when he openly and knowingly used a false dossier, lied to the American public ... and says he wants to continue to do so, ”McCarthy said.

He blamed Schiff for the disgraceful failure of the US in Afghanistan.

“Why did Afghanistan collapse so quickly?

Was the intelligence committee led by Adam Schiff focused on impeachment, not America's security?

Why do people on the terrorist lists cross the border?

What are they doing about it?"

The answer is nothing.

Congressmen have no time, they are looking for "the hand of Moscow."

Things are even worse with Swalwell - he had a relationship (and not only business) with a certain Christina Fang, whom the American media openly calls a "Chinese spy".

The scandal surrounding Svolvell and Fang flared up at the end of 2020, when the Axios website published an investigation into the activities of China's intelligence in the "golden state".

It turned out that the Chinese carefully took care of several promising Californian politicians, among whom was Svolvell.

Fang raised money for Swalwell's campaign, and when he became a congressman, she got her man an intern in his office.

Journalists suspected that Fang slept with Svolvell, but there was no direct evidence of this.

More precisely, they were found, but they were classified - a report on the "complicated and intimate details" of the relationship between Swalwell and Christina Fang was prepared by the American intelligence community back in 2021, but it was not given a go.

Moreover, despite the scandal, and the then speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi,

Just imagine: a congressman closely connected with Chinese intelligence, despite all the revelations in the press, continued to sit on the most important congressional committee, where information from all US intelligence agencies flowed.

And it was covered by a man who for four years told the Americans about the mythical "conspiracy" between Trump and the Kremlin.

“Let me tell you straight: if you had received the report that I received from the FBI, you would not have given Swalwell a seat on any committee,” Kevin McCarthy told reporters.

But it is clear: neither Schiff nor Swalwell can agree that they were expelled from the committee for constant lying and cooperation with Chinese intelligence.

It is much more profitable to present the case as if they were dealt with by "Putin sympathetic" Trumpists.

To add credibility, the California couple arranged joint statements with Ilhan Omar of the infamous Squad, who until recently served on the foreign affairs committee.

Now the Republicans intend to remove her from there - this fierce anti-Semitic from Somalia is doing too much damage to Washington's traditionally friendly relations with Israel.

But the Democrats, of course, cannot admit this either, so they are trying to convince voters that there is some kind of “conspiracy”, secret agreements between McCarthy and the Trumpists, obligations that the new speaker assumed in exchange for the support of those members of the Republican Party, who were initially opposed to his candidacy.

In all this phantasmagoria, there is a single grain of truth: the "elephants" really intend to take revenge on the "donkeys" for the expulsion of two of their fellow party members from congressional committees in 2021.

Then, under tremendous pressure from the Democrats, Arizona Republican Paul Gosar and Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Green lost their posts.

Both are ardent supporters of President Trump and skeptics of Washington’s financing of the Kyiv regime (“Ukraine is not our ally. Russia is not our enemy. We must solve our problems with traumatic debt, inflation and immigration. It’s not Putin’s fault,” Gosar said. in May 2022).

Then the Democrats were sure of their impunity and were seriously preparing for the long-term dominance of their party.

Now it's time to pay the bills, and this "donkeys", as, indeed, and all the left, do not like to do.
