A class was held at an elementary school in Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture to learn about local products, kamaboko.

The class was held at Suginoi Elementary School in Shiogama City, and about 80 third graders participated.

At the beginning of the class, the person in charge of the union of fish paste manufacturers in Shiogama City explained how to make the fish paste by rolling the minced fish into an oval shape by hand, skewering it, and then shaping it into an oval shape with your fingers.

After this, the children carefully shaped the minced meat into a perfectly round shape, and baked the kamaboko with charcoal to complete it.

The children immediately tasted the kamaboko that they had made themselves, and although they said things like, "It's hot," they ate it deliciously.

In addition, during the class, the production site at the factory was introduced in a video, and the children watched the kamaboko being made one after another.

One girl who participated said, "It was my first time making kamaboko, but I'm glad I made it well. It was difficult, but it was soft and delicious."

Another girl said, "It was easy to make and bake, and it was delicious."
