Around 9:30 am on the 27th, a two-car train and a light passenger car collided at the railroad crossing between Tsukame Station and Nishi-Furukawa Station on the JR Rikuu East Line in Osaki City.



The train and car continued in contact and stopped about 150 meters from the railroad crossing, according to police.



According to the fire department, an elderly man who was riding in a light passenger car was unconscious and was taken to a hospital in the city.



Also, according to JR East, there were 30 passengers on the train, and there was no information about injuries so far, so they took measures to transport them by bus or taxi after unloading them on the tracks.



The scene is a railroad crossing with an alarm and a barrier, and the police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.



Due to this accident, the JR Rikuu East Line has suspended operation on the up and down lines from Kogota Station to Naruko Onsen Station, and is expected to resume around 2:00 pm.
