Planned to connect the two banks of the Var river, between Nice and Saint-Laurent-du-Var, from 2026, the cable car announced by the metropolis will be delayed.
The project will be done "on a schedule which will be rather spread out until 2028", explained Christian Estrosi this Thursday on the set of BFM Nice Côte d'Azur.

the postponement of several other major projects, due to the lack of finances strained by "the pandemic", "the tragedy of storm Alex" and the “inflationary and energy crisis”.
“We are approaching” the debt ceiling, had also recognized the elected official, forced to be able to deliver only “priority” investments during his third term.

On the air, this Thursday, Christian Estrosi thus specified that he had "made the choice", with the mayors of Cagnes-sur-Mer and Saint-Laurent-du-Var, to "give priority to the line of tramway T4", which should connect these municipalities to the capital of the Côte d'Azur.
A project that will itself be delayed.
It was to be completed in 2026. On this date, this site will only have "crossed the Var", indicated the mayor.
The rails should therefore only reach the terminus of Cagnes-sur-Mer later.
