After the worldwide success of the

Squid Game

series , Netflix has decided to launch a spin-off reality game, which began filming in the UK on Monday.

But according to information from the

Sun

, the experience quickly turned into a nightmare for the candidates of “Squid Game: The Challenge”.

The 456 participants thus found themselves in freezing cold, for the first event organized on a former military base in north London.

As in the South Korean series, players compete in challenges inspired by childhood.

For the first day of filming, they reproduced the “One, two, three, sun” challenge, which has become emblematic for fans of the program.

“It was like a war zone.

People left in tears, ”the competitors told the British magazine.

Some of them finished the race crawling while an exhausted participant had to be dragged.

Some have come close to hypothermia

Despite a temperature of -3°C, the players continued the game but sometimes came close to hypothermia by remaining immobile for too long.

Frostbite has even been observed.

“People were being transported by doctors but we couldn't say anything.

If you talk, you're out ,

” a witness told The

Sun.

Indeed, the goal of "One, two, three, sun" is to advance towards a giant doll without being noticed.

When her eyes are trained on the candidates, she eliminates those who have the misfortune to move.

"We each had blood vests under the clothes that would automatically burst if they caught you moving, to make it look like you had been shot," says one participant.

“All precautions have been taken”

“They gave us two undershirts, two socks, a shirt, sneakers and green tracksuits,” one interviewee reveals.

A very light outfit to stay several hours in an unheated place.

At least one candidate would have been evacuated on a stretcher.

For their part, Netflix and the production of the game assure the

Sun

that the safety of the candidates remains a priority.

“All competitors were warned by production several weeks ago that they would be playing a game in the cold and entered knowing it.

Every precaution has been taken to ensure the game is safe.
