On the cover of the latest issue of "Current Woman" magazine on Tuesday, January 24, Marianne James did not hesitate to reveal her weight.

The lyrical singer explained that she weighs 138 kilos and that she has no problem with her obesity, which is for her a "flag".

The "France has an incredible talent" juror wants to help other fat people by showing that she takes full responsibility.

magazine  on January 24, the opera singer and singing teacher has chosen to speak openly about her weight and present her obesity as a standard. 

"Grossphobia hurts"

"I'm so happy with this adventure. You realize, I'm 60 years old, I weigh 138 kilos and I'm on the cover," she enthused in the columns of the magazine.

"I'm so proud. Put my weight well, I want it and I have no problem saying it," says Marianne James, who has nothing to hide.

"It's my spearhead! It's part of me. But, you know, being overweight leads to a poor image. Fat people have an extremely complicated daily life, both in their personal and professional lives. Fatphobia hurts , a lot of trouble”, continues the singing teacher, juror of the show

"I'm obese, that's my flag"

Marianne James has no problem being seen as the spokesperson for fat people.

"Today, I'm obese. It's my flag. I can't move forward without it, so I might as well take it on! I'm delighted to see that by taking it on, I'm helping others. You can't imagine not the number of fat people, men or women of all ages who come to see me to say 'Thank you. Thank you for what you do for us'", says the one for whom "speaking on behalf of fat people is wanted and sought after" .

"I do it spontaneously and with pleasure," she concludes.
