On February 9, the father of Felipe VI plans to be in Paris, where he will attend the ceremony of access to the French Academy of

King Juan Carlos has resided in Abu Dhabi since August 2020, when he left Spain with the intention of spending time
away from the media spotlight
.
However, in March he informed his son of his decision to settle permanently in the Gulf country.
Since then,
the King has only set foot on the old continent on four known occasions
.
The first was in May of last year, when he spent a weekend in Sanxenxo racing and then visited his family at the Palacio de la Zarzuela.
That summer he was in Switzerland with the Infantas and in September he traveled to London to attend the funeral for Elizabeth II.
Just two weeks ago she was with her entire family, with the exception of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, at the burial of Constantine of Greece.
