"The Innocent" and "The Night of 12" lead the nominations for the César 2023

After the Oscar nominations, it is the turn of French cinema to announce this Wednesday the list of filmmakers, performers and films in the running for the César, a month before the ceremony.

With eleven and ten nominations respectively, the detective comedy
L'Innocent
by Louis Garrel and the thriller
La Nuit du 12
by Dominik Moll
, retracing the impossible investigation into a feminicide, did well. These two feature films are at the top of the nominations for the 48th César, which are to be awarded on February 24.
Cédric Klapisch's film on the reconstruction of a classical dancer
En Corps
, and
Pacifiction
with Benoît Magimel, also did well with nine nominations each.

The 4,705 members of the Academy now have one month to decide between these films, before the awards evening which will be chaired by Tahar Rahim, and presented collectively with nine masters and mistresses of ceremony, from Emmanuelle Devos to Eye Haïdara, via Alex Lutz and Ahmed Sylla.
