He's back on stage.

Renaud launched this Monday, January 23, a series of concerts.

The French singer began his tour with a date in Avignon, near his home.

A sold-out date: places snapped up like hotcakes, says the management of the La Scala performance hall.

As soon as the wind blows, he will go on tour again.

Tour entitled In my strings.

More than five years that his fans have been waiting for him.

At 70, Renaud will be this Tuesday evening at La Scala Provence, in Avignon.

His show is soberly titled

Renaud dans mes cords

.

Renaud lives in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a small corner of Provençal paradise just next to Avignon.

And even before this first concert, we can say that it's a return to the country of the winning Mistral.

"We opened the sales at 9 a.m. and at 9:10 a.m., we had no more places", says, amazed, Frédéric Biessy.

The man attended rehearsals for the intimate show.

"It's completely crazy. (...) It's not a tour like he has done so far with 300 dates, we had to take the leap."

Renaud back in the light

Renaud returns to the stage, encouraged by his family and accompanied by a set of strings: an accordion and of course his friend Alain Lanty on the piano.

"His voice is a little weaker than before," says the musician.

"So we had to find the right way to bring together the intimacy of the songs, the energy when it was needed, and not cover it up."

No more walking in the shade.

Renaud then continues with around thirty dates throughout France and will perform in the legendary halls of the Casino de Paris and the Olympia.

A tour and an album: his new opus entitled

Métèque

was released on December 2 in stores.
