• The specialized media Street Art Cities invites Internet users to elect the most fresco in the world 2022.

  • One hundred works were initially selected.

They are now only ten, including a French, visible in Le Mans.

  • Voting is open online until January 31.

It has become an appointment awaited by the fans.

The Street art cities website, specializing in the latest graffiti, stencils and street posters, organizes its annual ranking of the most beautiful mural fresco in the world.

And it's up to Internet users to vote!

To establish the 2022 prize list, 100 works, spread over 30 countries, were selected by a jury in early January as the most spectacular and the most shared on social networks.

France was well represented since eleven frescoes appeared in the lot.

But since the end of last week, the competition has tightened: only ten works have been selected for the final vote.

Voting is open until January 31.

If the Spaniards are the most numerous, a French artist is among the finalists.

This is the Parisian Seth for his work called "Le Terrier" exhibited at Le Mans.

Produced in June as part of the Plein Champ urban arts festival, this trompe-l'oeil offers an unexpected perspective on a dead end street, rue Jankowski, near the Sarthe town centre.

It is an anamorphosis, a distorted image, painted on several buildings at the same time, and which takes on its full meaning when viewed from a specific point.

Much appreciated by the inhabitants of the district, the fresco, which will be permanent, has also been talked about a lot on social networks this summer.

Seth, an already well-known artist

Aged 50, Seth, whose real name is Julien Malland, is particularly renowned for his representations of a faceless child.

His work in many countries earned him the nickname of

globe painter.

He became known to the general public for his participation in the Canal + program Les Nouveaux explorers.

An exhibition is dedicated to him until February 26 at the floating art center Fluctuart, in Paris.

In addition to his Manceau “Terrier”, Seth was included in the Street Art Cities 2022 selection for another work, located rue Buot in Paris.

French frescoes by Vinie (Paris), Curtis Hylton (Paris), Case Maclain (Grenoble), Méro (Félines-Minervois), Mediarenas (Briançon), Seyb (Sepmes), Kalouf (Le Barcarès), Collin Van Der Sluijs (Laon ) and Tyxna Project (Rillieux-la-Pape) were also in the first selection.

Last year, a fresco by Spanish graffiti artist Julio As was voted the most beautiful fresco in the world 2021 by Street art cities.

It is a gigantic drawing by Julius Caesar, made on a facade of the fortified city of Lugo, not far from La Coruña, in Galicia, which had seduced Internet users.
