A four-year-old boy joins the British Elite Intelligence Association

A four-year-old boy has become one of the youngest to join the UK's elite IQ community after teaching himself to read at the age of two.

Teddy Hobbs started reading during the coronavirus lockdown, and he was only 26 months old when he was able to fluently read a book written by his parents, Beth and Will.

After that, the young man applied to learn how to count to 100 in Mandarin, Somerset Live reports.

"He's always been interested in books, so we made sure he had plenty," said his mother, Beth, 31.

And during the corona lockdown, he started to get really interested, and by the age of 26 months, he taught himself to read, then moved on to numbers and was learning the multiplication tables, and taught himself to count up to 100 in Mandarin, plus six other languages, including Welsh and French. , Spanish, and German.

Teddy's parents were perplexed by his talents, so they contacted health officials with a view to assessing his condition, and the couple continued to search for support for their son, so they sought guidance from the MENSA Association of Super IQs.

"I was worried about him being able to sit in front of a laptop for an hour, but he absolutely loved it," Beth said.
