The Stung Treng Mekong River Bridge in Cambodia was constructed by Shanghai Construction Engineering Corporation. It was opened to traffic in 2015 and is 1,731 meters long. It is a concrete bridge crossing the Mekong River on Highway 9 in Stung Treng Province.
Peng Bohua, deputy general manager of Shanghai Construction Engineering Cambodia Branch, pointed out that in the eight years since it was opened to traffic, the Stung Treng Mekong River Bridge has become the throat of traffic in the northern part of Cambodia, changing the history of people on both sides of the strait needing to travel by ferry as a single way of travel, shortening travel time , reduced travel costs, and made important contributions to the development of transportation and tourism in northern Cambodia.
Sogenna, director of the Stung Treng Provincial Transportation Bureau, said that Stung Treng Province is the most important province in northern Cambodia. It plays a role as a transportation hub in the transportation network in northern Cambodia and is also an important timber export base in northern Cambodia.
