In an interview with "Parisien" Sunday January 22, Pierre Lescure, who succeeds Claire Chazal on the Sunday evening box on France 2, castigated the behavior of the journalist after his ousting from the grid.

The journalist, whose program "Passage des arts" was stopped during the season, for lack of audience, had judged the decision of France 2 "brutal" and "unfair".

Pierre Lescure succeeds Claire Chazal on the slot occupied on Sundays at 11 p.m. on France 2, with his program

Beau geste

, which replaces

Passage des arts.

The first issue of this cultural magazine devoted to cinema was released on Sunday 22 January.

France TV has decided to stop

Passage des arts

after three seasons, due to a lack of audience.

"It's a great feeling of injustice"

Claire Chazal took it very badly to be ousted from the France 2 grid in the middle of the season.

"It's brutal. And it's a great feeling of injustice. I absolutely did not see the blow coming. I dispute the argument of the audiences, because they are in the average of last season. The management had renews the show at the start of the school year, and this until June 2023, in full knowledge of the facts”, she reacted in the columns of

Télérama

last December.

She also said that she had defended until the end "the quality of the program, its content, the variety of its programming".

"I found it a bit inflated that it became a great national cause"

In an interview with Le

Parisien

on Sunday January 22 on the occasion of the broadcast of the first issue of

Beau geste,

Pierre Lescure castigated the behavior of the journalist.

"I understand that she is bitter but her campaign is still a bit excessive," said the columnist of

C to you.

"At the start, I didn't even know if my show would be on France 2, France 3 or France 5… I found it a little inflated that it was becoming a great national cause in her eyes when she didn't say hello nor thank you to Laurent Goumarre, whom she herself had replaced at the time", he continues.

Claire Chazal had also regretted being replaced by a man eleven years her senior.

"I am the age that I am, I am eleven years older than him. I do not want to stop at all, I confirm. (...) I am in good health", retorted Pierre Lescure, very happy to present

Beau geste.
