Cécile "SeriaLectrice", bookstagramer and contributor to the 20 Minutes Books reading group, recommends "Lui et moi" by Alice Feeney, published on January 4, 2023 by Éditions Hauteville.

His favorite quote:

We tend to see only what we want in those we love.

We modify them, we transform them into the person we would like them to be, ignoring who they really are.

Why this book?

  • Because from the first of this thriller, the reader is embedded

in the story and finds it difficult to release this book.

Throughout the novel, the reader is on the alert and wonders at the same time as the characters.

Many elements let us doubt the identity of the potential killer.

  • Because the construction of the novel makes it addictive.

We alternate in each chapter the points of view of Anna and Jack.

And while in some cases it is redundant, here the author has managed not to fall into the pitfall of repetitions.

Each point of view brings a new element, and sows doubt.

  • Because we retrace the past of Anna and her teenage

    friends .

The more we advance in the novel, the more our doubts fade and a culprit seems to be looming.

But that's without counting on the genius of Alice Feeney who offers us here a final twist that I did not expect.

And I have to say it's brilliant, because I really saw nothing but fire in it.
