In consideration of gender diversity, prefectural high schools in Saitama Prefecture have made it possible for all female students to choose slacks for their uniforms from the new academic year.

According to the Saitama Prefectural Board of Education, as of April 2018, female students in 38 prefectural high schools, which accounted for about 30% of the prefecture's high schools, were only allowed to choose skirts for uniforms. There was a voice saying that it was necessary.
