On Monday, January 23, the nominees for the 43rd Golden Raspberry anti-award, which is awarded annually for the worst contribution to cinema, were announced.

At the end of 2022, the biographical film “Blonde”, the plot of which is based on the life story of the famous actress Marilyn Monroe, became the leader in the number of nominations.

The tape with Ana de Armas in the title role received eight nominations, including as "Worst Picture".

The film is based on the biographical novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates.

The film reveals the life of Norma Jean Baker, who becomes a screen legend.

As the members of the Golden Raspberry jury ironically noted, this "picture, which the creators themselves call a "non-biographical biopic", "explores" the theme of the exploitation of Marilyn Monroe ... continuing to exploit her after death."

In total, five films are presented in the Worst Picture category, among them is the comedy Good Mourning, in which the main role was played by actor and musician Colson Baker (Machine Gun Kelly).

According to the organizers of the award, the film scored a "perfect zero" rating on the Rotten Tomatoes portal.

In addition, the Morbius fantasy about a scientist who becomes a bloodthirsty monster during an experiment, the animated film Pinocchio by Robert Zemeckis and the adventure film The Mermaid and the King's Daughter with Pierce Brosnan and Kaya Scodelario will compete for the title.

The 2023 Worst Director award could go to Judd Apatow for the pandemic filmmaking comedy The Bubble, Coulson Baker and Maud Sun for directing Good Mourning, Robert Zemeckis (Pinocchio), and directors "Morbius" by Daniel Espinosa and "Blonde" by Andrew Dominik.

Among the “worst” actors are Pete Davidson (voice of the protagonist in the Netflix cartoon “Marmaduke”), Jared Leto, who appeared in the image of Morbius in the film of the same name, Sylvester Stallone, who starred in the Samaritan film, Tom Hanks (“Pinocchio”) and again Colson Baker and the same Good Mourning project.

Among the contenders for the title of worst supporting actress are Adria Arjona (“Morbius”), Penelope Cruz (“Code 355”), Fan Bingbing (“Mermaid and the King's Daughter”), Lorraine Bracco (“Pinocchio”), Mira Sorvino (“Lamborghini : Legendary person").

Potentially worst supporting actors are Pete Davidson and Maude Sun (The Good Mourning), "latex-clad Tom Hanks with a completely ridiculous accent, portraying Colonel Tom Parker in Elvis", Evan Williams and Xavier Samuel (Blonde).

The Worst Sequel, Remake or Parody category includes two parts of 365 Days, Blonde, Pinocchio, Jurassic World: Dominance, and Inflammatory Eyes.

The awards ceremony will take place on March 11, 2023, on the eve of the Oscars.

In 2022, Diana: The Musical was named Worst Picture.

In addition, the picture won anti-awards for directing, female roles and screenplay.

The musical was released in 2021 and received mostly negative reviews from critics and viewers.

Three figurines went to the film "Space Jam: The Next Generation".

The film was named the worst sequel, remake or plagiarism, and LeBron James received two awards for his role in it - Worst Actor and Worst Screen Ensemble.

Also last year, a unique category was introduced - "The Worst Performance of Bruce Willis in a Movie of 2021".

It included eight films with the participation of the famous actor, including "Star Line", "Dead End", "Beyond Life", "Survive the Game".

However, later it became known about Willis's health problems and the organizers canceled the nomination.

The Golden Raspberry anti-award has existed since 1981.

Every year, laureates are nominated by members of the foundation of the same name from all over the world.

Winners receive gold-painted raspberry figurines valued at $4.97.
