The second person to walk on the moon, former American astronaut Buzz Aldrin, has married.

On Friday, his 93rd birthday, Aldrin tied the knot with his 63-year-old partner Anca Faur in Los Angeles.

They were "as excited as two runaway teenagers," Aldrin wrote on Twitter.

Faur has been working as a project manager at Aldrin's company since 2019.

Marriage to her is his fourth.

The retired astronaut married for the first time in 1954. The 18-year marriage produced three children.

Aldrin celebrated his second wedding in 1975. The marriage lasted only three years.

Aldrin filed for divorce from his third wife, whom he married in 1988, twelve years ago.

The 93-year-old became world famous in 1969 when he became the second person to set foot on the moon shortly after Neil Armstrong as part of the Apollo 11 mission.
