Director Park Chan-wook's film 'Decision to Break Up' was nominated for Best Director and Best Non-English Film at this year's British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).



On the 19th (local time), the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, which organizes the event, announced the final list of candidates for the 76th event.



Park Chan-wook, who was nominated for the Best Director Award, is Edvard Berger for 'All Right on the Western Front', Martin McDonagh for 'Banshee in Inisherin', Daniel Kwan and Daniel Sheinert for 'Everything Everywhere All At Once', and 'Tar'. Todd Field competes with director Gina Prince Byswood of 'The Woman King'.



In the Film not in the English language category, it competes with 'All Quiet on the Western Front' (Germany), 'Argentina, 1985' (Argentina), 'Corsage' (France), and 'The Silent Girl' (Ireland). .



This is the first time Park Chan-wook's film has been nominated for the Best Director category at the British Academy Awards, and the second time since "The Handmaiden" in 2017 that it has been nominated for a non-English language film award.

'The Handmaiden' was honored with the award at the time.



'Decision to Break Up' is a melodramatic thriller about Ha Hae-jun (Park Hae-il), a detective who investigates an accidental death, feeling suspicious and interested in the deceased's wife Seorae (Tang Wei) at the same time.

It won the Best Director award at the 75th Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the International Feature Film category at the 95th Academy Awards as a representative of Korean cinema.

It is raising expectations for the final candidate selection by listing 10 preliminary candidates.



This year's British Academy Awards ceremony will be held on February 19 at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, London, England.
