There was a case in which a woman in her 80s in Yokohama who received a false phone call pretending to be her son was defrauded of about 60 million yen for a month from October last year.

The police have arrested a suspect who came to the woman's home to receive cash, and are investigating the person who instructed them.

According to police, a woman in her 80s in Yokohama City received a false phone call claiming to be her son and was defrauded of about 60 million yen for about a month from October last year.

During this time, the woman's home was visited every day by a "receiving child" who pretended to be an employee of the law office to receive cash.

In mid-November, the woman was nearly out of cash and consulted her son, who said she realized it was a scam.

After that, when the police who received the report were vigilant at the woman's home, Riku Nakayama (25), who had no fixed address and was unemployed, visited and arrested her on the spot.

A subsequent investigation found that the suspect had received 10 million yen in cash from a woman, so the police conducted a follow-up prosecution on suspicion of fraud by the 19th.

In response to the police investigation, he said, ``I didn't have money, so I searched for a scam's receiver' on SNS.I went to the woman's house every day.''

The police are also investigating the person who instructed them.
