On the morning of the 19th, there was a fire that burned a two-story house in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, killing two people.

After the fire, the police are proceeding to confirm the identity of the 70-year-old husband and the 60-year-old wife who live in the house and have not been able to contact them.

Around 9:40 am on the 19th, a passerby reported to the fire department that "smoke is coming out of the building" in the center of Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture.



Thirteen fire engines and other vehicles were dispatched to extinguish the fire, and the fire was extinguished after about an hour and a half, but the two-story wooden house burned.



Two people, a man and a woman, were taken to hospital in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest in the fire, but were later confirmed dead.



In addition, one woman in her 90s was injured, but there is no danger to her life.



According to the police, a family of four lived in this house, and after the fire, they lost contact with a husband in his 70s and a wife in her 60s who lived in this house. We are trying to confirm the identity of this couple.



The site is an area where apartments and houses are lined up about 300 meters north of Kure City Hall.



Police are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
