The doyenne of humanity, the French sister André, died at 118

She was the dean of known humanity since April.

The French sister André died in her sleep on the night of Monday to Tuesday in her retirement home in Toulon.

“She died at 2 a.m.

There is great sadness but she wanted it, it was her desire to join her beloved brother.

For her, it's a release, ”explained David Tavella, in charge of communication at the Sainte-Catherine-Labouré accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people, where she lived.

Sister André is the 4th person who lived the longest, behind Jeanne Calment (122 years old), Kane Tanaka and an American, according to Laurent Toussaint, specialist in extreme longevity in France.
