It's an original prize to say the least that is put into play. For two euros, participants in the solidarity raffle Don'actions du Secours populaire de la Sarthe will perhaps have the chance to win

The Flower Thrower

, a work created at stencil by famous street artist Banksy.

A 20x30 cm cardboard panel, “signed and stamped”, was recently entrusted to the association by an anonymous donor for the drawing of lots in March.

“It is not an extremely rare piece, but our auctioneer nevertheless estimated it at around 500 euros, welcomes Maël Brillant-Leguennec, departmental director of Secours populaire, who specifies that an authentication process is in progress.

It comes from a series of 50 copies distributed free of charge by the artist, on the sidelines of Dismaland.

“A parody of amusement park mounted in 2015 in England, where Banksy had denounced the sometimes exorbitant prices of the works, by performing this performance.

“That anyone can win it”

Since this surprising lot became known, word of mouth has worked and "many requests for participation" have arrived at Secours populaire de la Sarthe in recent hours, and even beyond the department.

“The objective is that anyone can win it, believes Maël Brillant-Leguennec.

Above all, it is an important influence for us to get people talking about rampant precariousness.

» It is possible to buy a raffle ticket from the Sarthe federation.
