The prefecture of Cantal plays the precaution.
It therefore banned the circulation of school transport and people on the roads of the department for the whole day of this Tuesday because of the risks associated with snow and ice.
The provision does not apply to urban buses from Aurillac and Arpajon-sur-Cère.
The authorities also recalled that all vehicles circulating in Cantal on the roads of the department, the motorway, national and departmental network, are subject to the obligation to wear special equipment.
Several departments on orange alert
Cantal is placed in orange snow and ice vigilance this Tuesday, announced Météo-France, as are Ain, Isère, Savoie, Haute-Savoie, as well as Lozère.
Traffic restrictions for heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes and public transport (excluding school and extracurricular activities) are also planned for Tuesday morning in Ardèche, a department on yellow alert.
