At the end of the year, a construction worker who was arrested for running away after hitting four men who were patrolling a neighborhood association in Sakai City, Osaka, killing two people, said, ``Drinking alcohol and falling asleep while driving. I had an accident,” he said.

On the other hand, he denied the hit-and-run, saying, "I have no recognition that I hit someone."

In the middle of the night on the 27th of last month, four men who were patrolling a neighborhood association on a city road in Naka Ward, Sakai City were hit by a car, killing two people. Yasuyuki (49) was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run, and the circumstances are being investigated.

According to investigative sources, he told investigators, "I drank alcohol before driving. I fell asleep while driving and caused an accident. I noticed the accident from the sound."

It is believed that he visited two pubs just before the accident, had four or more glasses of beer at the first one, and drank alcohol at another shop until just before he drove a car.

The police changed the charges to dangerous driving causing death and injury on the 17th, saying that he caused an accident while normal driving was difficult due to the influence of alcohol, and sent him to the Public Prosecutor's Office for further prosecution on the 17th.

Inoki said, ``I caused an accident and walked away, but I didn't realize that I had hit someone, and I thought I had hit a telephone pole or something,'' and he denied the hit and run.
